Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing HVAC systems for both commercial and residential clients. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while ensuring top-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Perform routine maintenance on heating systems, including boilers, furnaces, and heat pumps.
  • Install new HVAC and heating systems for both commercial and residential properties.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and HVAC parts.
  • Travel to client locations, providing timely and professional service.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, industry regulations, and company standards.
  • Clearly communicate findings, repair options, and recommendations to clients.
  • Keep detailed records of service calls, maintenance activities, and system installations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs and services.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as an HVAC Technician.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC and heating system troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Punctual, reliable, and professional with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for travel to various job sites.

  • Customer Service Training
    As a Nexstar member company, all technicians at Advanced Air are expected to follow the Service System when running service calls. You’ll begin learning the Service System by completing the self-study guide on your own, along with participating in weekly Service System meetings at the shop.
  • Technical Training
    A good technician needs strong technical skills and the ability to solve problems in the field. No one knows everything in this trade, and there will always be situations you haven’t seen before. The key is continuing to learn, leaning on the team around you, and building a strong technical foundation through training and hands-on experience.
  • Running Service Calls
    You’ll eventually be expected to run service calls on your own. This usually starts with a supervisor riding along with you. Participation in the on-call schedule is required. As you begin running your own calls, you’ll also be expected to complete Curbside Feedback Forms as part of the Service System process.

For someone with no experience, this process can take less than three months, but it typically should not take longer than six months. It is your responsibility to take initiative and drive to the process.
